D6 Namche - Tengboche

 Day 6 (4.10.22) - Tengboche 12,464ft

        Woke-up to a bright cold morning, whilst most of them already started wearing their thermals, I loved the cool weather and the envious video chat with my family back home in a picturesque background. 

    The weather had been pleasant and gentle on us all these days. The twist in the tale began as the day unwound with a drizzle. The quite unexpected change in weather forced us to pull out our ponchos and hence a delayed start by 45 mins. The extra costume transformed us into zombies / winged creatures/witches (could name any ;) .The steady drizzle throughout the day compelled us to keep our ponchos on.



    

 

It was a pleasant descent through the slushy rhododendron forest until we broke for lunch. Shiva and I were on the lookout for new jadi-booties. Our staple the Daal Baal tasted more delicious by the wild Dudh Kosi river flowing beside us with all her might.

Post lunch session was a steep ascent to Tengboche. Our saviour Prem kept our minds occupied with his riddles. We trekked our way trying to solve the riddle and laughing out. The 3 hr trek seemed easy with the Riddle Solving Committee in full josh and also a good diversion to ease the strain.

Trekkers Lodge welcomed us with attached toilets. Felt like heaven ;) The temperature was dipping. We still had time for using the sleeping bag.

I enjoyed the privilege of living with 2 pattis (my mom's mom and my dad's mom) until recently. Last year Chellama patti (Dad's mom) passed away and Vedavalli( Mom's mom) a few years before.It would be unfair, if I  forget to mention my munadi aathu patti(Janakammal -my front house patti ,who lived in Ambattur).Each of them were strikingly different in their own ways,yet bringing up their family was the first intention for all.  Whatsapp Encyclopedia! - These days, the source of all joy and sorrow.      BD Home is the Mini Google(BD - Bessie Dreamers my running group). One such post by Sujatha on 30th May regarding EBCserves as the story for this write-up. Yes, I was immediately excited about it. Lying, dormant on my bucket list for a few years. Of course, too many Ifs and Buts before I could confirm. Firstly, the red dot has been troubling since recent times. From a 4-5 day routine, it has transformed into a 10-12 saga , draining me mentally and physically. So I was unable to decide if it will affect my schedule.This trek is no mean feat that could be managed with it. Fingers crossed and left it to HIM.
