EBC -Preface 1
Whatsapp Encyclopedia! - These days, the source of all joy and sorrow.
BD Home is the Mini Google(BD - Bessie Dreamers my running group). One such post by Sujatha on 30th May regarding EBCserves as the story for this write-up. Yes, I was immediately excited about it. Lying, dormant on my bucket list for a few years. Of course, too many Ifs and Buts before I could confirm.
Firstly, the red dot has been troubling since recent times. From a 4-5 day routine, it has transformed into a 10-12 saga , draining me mentally and physically. So I was unable to decide if it will affect my schedule. This trek is no mean feat that could be managed with it. Fingers crossed and left it to HIM.
Secondly, permission to take off for 10 days from school.
Lastly, manage home and kids for 15 days.I considered this the easiest as I was confident about Ranga's WFH ;)😉
Finally, all the jigsaws fell in place, and it was time to shop(we did shop in the pharmacy tooooo)😁 and began our practice.Asha, Sujatha,Bhooma and myself from my running group confirm for the trek.
First meeting with Arjan and other group members @Amethyst for an orientation session about the trek. Most of the others seemed to be regular trekkers. After a good questionnaire session, we dispersed with a lotta more unanswered questions . The names of all the places mentioned seemed Greek and Latin then.
Appreciate, Bhooma's efforts in doing quite a bit of research on things to buy, clothes to wear, how to wear and .........
Commenced our practice sessions with our trekking shoes - Step training on the Indira Nagar MRTS overbridge , running practice on the flyover over the weekends. Slowly graduated to step training with weights (4-6kgs). Received weird looks from the onlookers and learnt to ignore them.Had some reasonable practice sessions hoping that would help us.Also, trekked the Gingee Fort like a mock test.😂
The D day arrived .....
