Back To School Vacations are over and its now time to be back to school.Wow!!It is a very pleasant sight to watch Aakriti,Greeshmi,Bhavesh,Meghna go to school.Bhavesh wakes us up as early as 5.30am with his loud cry.We live together in the same apartment. They have joined nursery class.Neatly ironed new uniforms, new shoes. Isn't is really very exciting. The smell of new books, uniform, shoes & socks... I wanna get back to my school. Meeting old friends after a long break, discussing about their hols was delightful.1 or 2 days just passed chit-chatting.New entrants were like aliens/strangers,staring at them and negligent to even say a "HI".It took almost 3-4 months to accept the new comers. I was always a back-bencher.Only one reason to be early to school on the re-opening day was to a find a good place in the back seat.Unfortunately, I had to take up the 1st row in my 12th standard as I was late on the 1st day.Only then I realized why the 1st benchers were the 'all-ti...

Birthdays.. Vakul and Vallabh recently celebrated their 2nd birthday. It was party time for kids.It was a small celebration with my apartment friends and kids as invitees.Decorations were as usual, balloons, ribbons and lights.Cake, samosas, chips, juice, lollipops, mini jamuns were the delicacies. Generally, kids enjoy the fun and party. It has become a routine for them. They attend more parties, than I have in my 26 yrs.Birthday parties almost all round the year.In an apartment of 80 flats, there are nearly 30-35 kids. All friends with each other, despite dooos & kaaas.Kids are accustomed to taking gifts and return gifts. There were a group of boys discussing about birthday parties and gifts. There was a kid saying "I have this(gift) already".This struck a chord in my mind.I was a bit disturbed. The first question that arose in my mind was "are we raising responsible kids?" .I feel, our kids have abundance of anything and everything. We don't shun any of the...

I had bread toast,Oats porridge and Ginger Lemon Honey for B'fast. We were mentally prepared for a challenging and killer trek. All our backpacks were packed with candies, protein bars, electrolyte, water bottles, raincoats, trekking poles, sunscreen and caps. The Tenacious Troopers as we called ourselves set off @8:10am after the customary photoshoot. This was no race, n o c ompetition. I decided to go slow and enjoy the trek and formed the backbenchers gang - Prem,Rudra,Karthik,Asha, Nayan and myself.T he first few hours of the trek was a trail along the left bank of the Dudh Kosi River was a picturesque countryside. Our jogpeys also followed us diligently. Beautiful fields beside the houses dotted the path. The locals grew cauliflowers, cabbages, lettuce and double beans. The myriad hues o...
