Kutti kutti kanavugal

Little things bring us joy!

Simple wishes, dreams, desires motivate us and drive us to do crazy things.

Today's LSD (Long Sunday)began with no targets in mind.Pulled into the group by Shiva at PB, I thought I would run apni man marzi..Hardly did I know that Hari&Co were planning to do a 21k via  Chennai 0 .The magic milestone was in my wishlist and did not want to let go of the opportunity as soon as I got to know. Definitely, Im no match for the trail blazers &  I'm always a trailing gazer. Doc decided to accompany Uma & me and have a relaxed run. I couldn't ask for more. Lest that I realise, it was a killer weather.

The oppressive weather conditions made every step tougher. Thanks to my running partners to put up with all my cribbing and ranting. The timing transitioned from 4:1 to 3:1, later to 2:1 and finally walk.

Clicking pictures en route for varalaaaru kept me going.Completely drenched in sweat , dehydration taking a toll, indeed a bad day to realise my wish.

I kept telling myself - " Just keep moving". As my neck strained and hamstring happily stringing tight, getting past Marina, the second longest coastline seemed like a draaaag. The target didn't seem any closer. Finally, reached the Victory War Memorial , and further down "just a turn and straight" to the milestone. The rejuvenating Drum beats and lemon soda pumped in some energy to the parched throat and exhausted mandai.

A final hurdle to reach 0, the bridge. A steep walk across the narrow bridge and yeah... the milestone, my magic milestone. What next... Padam podavendidu thaan... Photoshoot kku smiilllleeee plzzzz!!!

Yes, and a few more miles.. Did a 16k , with no more energy left in me.. decided to take an auto back to Bessie.

Realising dreams is never a rosy path, however miniscule it may seem. It could happen unexpectedly in an unconducive manner, just like today!

Thanks to Doc, Uma and 3 bottles of sodas!!
