A Day at Bheemeshwari

Back again to share my experience about my trip with Marketics friends. Wondering about the place ???? Located in the southernmost part of Karnataka is the Chamrajnagar district.This place lies in the leeward side of Nilgiris. So,why has this place gained importance ? What's special? Hmmm.. The Bheemeshwari river (?). As always all rivers have different names in different regions.The Kaveri flowing here takes the name of "Bheemeshwari" . A renowned place for fishing,the home for "Mahseer" , the largest tropical sporting fish known. It is also in the endangered list of species. Simple background for the trip is that the toiling & night working of the IBM team has won us an offsite :) The excited and enthusiastic junta of IBM team gathered at the office by 6.00 am(is'nt that gr8. We come late only on working days ;) ). A gang of 30 members boarded the bus, geared up with breakfast, refreshments, football, rackets..... Few people were picked up on the way ...
As I pen down this, Im at my office relaxed after a very long time. I was asking my hubby to take me to a deserted place where we could enjoy the power of nature away from all the hussle - bussle of monotonous city life. It was a really exiting when Anand told about the Jungle Lodges and their Island at Devbagh.Both of us finalised upon this and booked for 24 and 25 of March 2007. The D-day arrived and we got geared up for all the adventure and fun.Rushed home from office to board our Bus to Karwar.It was a long journey almost 11hrs from bangalore to Karwar.Anand had a deep slumber in the bus.I was awake all night watching the bus driver drive the bus on the dusty roads admist the sparkling headlights of those heavy and deadly trucks.Yeah! we reached Karwar at 7.00am found it to be big port handling huge traffic of goods. The place was calm. We took an auto to the Jungle Lodge office and found that the office was nothing more than a house in a dilapidated condition. On enquiring in the...
